At SCOPEinsight, our integrated solution starts with providing tools and systems to graduate the agribusinesses landscape, measuring and benchmarking how professional they manage their business and to do this at scale. Using the data collected in this process helps our partners make the graduation process more efficient and effective. At the same time it helps strengthen value chains  and increases market transparency, which facilitates linkages to markets and finance. Our unique data insights are used to understand and tackle challenges and reduce risks. This in turn leads to more sustainable value chains, a considerable reduction of costs, or more reliable sourcing.

About the position

You will join a young, diverse, and highly motivated team, with you playing an instrumental role into growing the business. In your role as a Strategic Partnership Manager, your main responsibilities will be:

  • Sales and Business Development (60%): Drive the growth of sales and meet our ambitious business development targets. Nurturing and promoting strong, long-lasting customer relationships by understanding their needs will help you succeed at this. As well as building upon and implementing our strategic business plan by expanding the value chain players (NGOs, multilaterals, donors, private sector partners, financial institutions) who use SCOPEinsight’s products and services.
  • Account management (30%): Provide outstanding support to both existing clients and new prospects and help them understand the benefits and value SCOPEinsight can provide. Provide guidance to our clients to maximize the added value of the use the SCOPE tools and systems. Be a champion of SCOPEinsight’s three-pillar strategy (graduation, data and linkage) and evangelize this both internally and externally.
  • Reporting (10%): Prepare sales, revenue and forecasting reports to the management team, providing a realistic data-driven picture, and generate plans to ensure that targets will be met.


Qualifications

We have learned that diverse backgrounds in our team lead to the best results. Therefore, we do not have any expectations on specific educational background. What we do expect you to bring:

Compulsory

  • A minimum of 4 years’ experience, of which at least two in a similar Business Development role
  • Good command of the English language
  • Understand the international trends in the agricultural development sector and the challenges for all stakeholders
  • Relevant network of agricultural value chain players (NGOs, donors, private sector players, and, financial institutions) already working in emerging markets
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Sales aptitude, that is both assertive and competitive
  • Good listener, able to provide the client with solutions rather then products
  • Entrepreneurial-minded professional with a growth mindset
  • Organized and able to create a clear progress reporting plan
  • Able to forecast short-term results accurately whilst keeping focus on the long-term leads


Preferred

  • Experience working in emerging economies
  • A work permit to work in the Netherlands
  • French and/or Spanish speaking
